Eastern District Organizers Meeting (EDO)

Hi all,
This email contains information regarding our Eastern District Organizers meeting at the
end of October this year.  Please share these details and encourage members in your
state to join us.  
We are excited to announce that our DBE State of VA and the Pimms and Poppies
chapter are hosting us this year for our annual EDO Meeting which will be in historic
Alexandria, Virginia on Friday October 31 and Saturday November 1.  Many thanks to
Kearsley for creating our Zeffy link to register for this year’s EDO meeting in Alexandria.
If you are able to book on-line that is our preferred method of payment for this event.

Please remind your members that if they are booking through Zeffy, remove any
optional donations that are listed by Zeffy.  As a non profit organization we do not need
to pay fees for the event management from Zeffy (although they will always suggest a
donation amount and you can remove the dollar amount in that field).  
I am also attaching a word document in case people want to send the form and cheques
to Cynthia Salihi via the post.  Members should print and complete the details on the
form before sending it to Cynthia with payment, at the address on the form.  
DBE has negotiated special rates to stay overnight at the Embassy Suites for $209 for a
single or shared room or $229 for a triple occupancy.  This information is also available
on the Zeffy link and paper registration form.  The rates apply for the evenings of
October 31 and November 1.

Some additional logistics:
If you are traveling via Amtrak, the hotel is just across the road from the Alexandria
station.  

Dinner and welcome reception will be at Gadsby’s Tavern at 6:30 pm on Friday,
October 31st.  Halloween costumes are encouraged and there will be prizes for the best
costumes.
The meeting will be held on Saturday and will end by 2:30 – 3pm so people can travel
back home.  
Please share this information with your Chapter regents and State board members. We
would love to host as many DBE Eastern District members that wish to attend.  These
meetings are a valuable way of connecting with DBE members from across our District
and learning more about the activities and events of the DBE Eastern District states.  
We look forward to seeing our EDO DBE members at this Fall event.
